Media Experience is a resource run by me, Tuukka (follow me), to teach you proven ways to automate your home and make your media experience more enjoyable.
Our comprehensive, easy to understand tutorials cover topics such as home media centers (HTPCs and media streamers), media servers and home automation that bring more enjoyment and convenience in your life.
Who is Tuukka? And how do I know about this stuff?
I’ve been building home theater computers and experimenting with home automation hardware and software for 19 years.
Since August 2009, I’ve been running this online resource called My Media Experience (now Media Experience), where you will find me and the Media Experience Team building and testing the latest hardware and software so you know exactly how to build your smart home’s media experience.
In order for the smart home to function, different products and software from different companies need to work together.
We don’t just teach ins and outs of computers that help run your smart home, but we have built, set up and tested everything ourselves.
Once a year, I ask from Media Experience readers what is their biggest challenge with their media experience. I receive over thousand awesome responses yearly and the message continues the same:
This is one of the thousands of comments I received from a person just like you.
The problem is that information is not organized
The biggest obstacle for setting up smart home gear is to make all hardware and software working seamlessly together to create a user-friendly media experience.
I have been publishing popular posts at the Media Experience blog for many years.
However, the problem is that information is not organized so that you can easily follow step-by-step instructions from start to finish.
The Media Experience site will walk you through a step-by-step process that helps you set up your home theater computer or smart home gear from scratch, choose the right software, set them up and integrate with each other.
You’ll keep making same mistakes
…unless you educate yourself about what works.
Here’s the deal.
Putting hardware together is relatively easy.
It is difficult to always provide up-to-date information in a traditional book format or even in an eBook format.
For this reason, I created a training course called Media Experience Blueprint that is kept always up-to-date.
9 Important topic areas that I cover on Media Experience
- Learn: How the big picture of home media and automation works
- Choose: How to choose the right parts for your needs

Disclosure: I am paying all the tested gear from the salary from my main job and Amazon affiliate earnings. I do not have a company for this site as this is a hobby for me. The recommended gear are the best in class as far as I have managed to put them together based on my 17 years of experience on building home theater computers and home automation as a hobby.
